APPROVAL OF THE GROUP ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The group annual financial statements in the integrated annual report
are the responsibility of the directors. They are responsible for selecting
and adopting sound accounting practices, for maintaining an adequate
and effective system of accounting records, for safeguarding assets and
for developing and maintaining a system of internal control that,
among other objectives, will ensure the preparation of the group
annual financial statements achieves fair presentation. The group
annual financial statements set out in this report have been prepared
by the directors in accordance with International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS). They are based on appropriate accounting policies
that have been consistently applied and are supported by reasonable
and prudent judgements and estimates.
The group annual financial statements have been prepared on the
going concern basis as the directors have every reason to believe the
company, and its subsidiaries, have adequate resources to continue
operations for the foreseeable future.
We declare that, to the best of our knowledge, the company has lodged with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission all such returns
as are required of a public company in terms of the South African Companies Act 71 of 2008, as amended, and that all such returns are true, correct
and up to date.

The external auditors are responsible for independently auditing and
reporting on the group financial statements in conformity with
International Standards on Auditing. Their report is set out in
the independent auditor’s report.
Preparation of the group annual financial statements was supervised by
Laurence Cohen (CA)SA in his capacity as financial director.
